Morice Norris injury update: AP reports latest on Lions DB's status after hospitalization

A scary injury forced the suspension of an NFL preseason game on Friday night, and more details have since emerged. Safety Morice Norris has been released from the hospital, according to a person familiar with the situation cited by the Associated Press.

The AP reports that Norris was released from an Atlanta hospital on Saturday and returned home. He then was at the teamโ€™s training facility with teammates on Sunday.

Morice Norris had previously posted to his Instagram story Saturday, reposting a Bible verse and providing a caption. He shared a screenshot of 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and wrote a caption, signaling heโ€™s in good spirits.

โ€œAmen Amen,โ€ Norris said. โ€œIโ€™m all good man, donโ€™t stress it. Appreciate all the check ins and love.โ€

Norris was injured Friday night in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. The injury occurred in the fourth quarter when Norris attempted to tackle Atlanta running back Nathan Carter .

Norrisโ€™ helmet connected with Carterโ€™s knee and his body immediately went stiff. His legs began to spasm shortly after the collision. Eventually, he was put onto a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The Lions and Falcons decided to suspend the rest of the game.
