Murtazaliev’s powerful left hook was the deciding factor, sending Tszyu to the canvas three times in the second round alone. By the third round, it was clear that Tszyu, a heavy favorite coming into the fight, was outclassed, as the Russian fighter relentlessly pressured him with fast jabs and devastating hooks.
The loss is a devastating blow for Tim Tszyu (24-2), as his second consecutive defeat severely jeopardizes his path to another world title fight. Hopes of future bouts against top names like Jermell Charlo or Errol Spence now seem unlikely.
Meanwhile, Murtazaliev’s performance solidifies his position as one of the most dangerous fighters in the division, proving that his power and precision are unmatched. His crushing victory over Tszyu ensures that the IBF super welterweight title stays firmly in his hands.
