New Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall knows he has his work cut out for him in Gainesville. The expectations are sky high. The expectations are championship-level sky high. If he doesn’t get Florida on the path to the College Football Playoff soon, he may not have long in this great new opportunity for him. The Gators poached Sumrall from Tulane, where he took the Green Wave to back-to-back American Athletic Conference championship game appearances and notched an overall record of 20-8 in two years. Oh, he also led Tulane to this season’s CFP, which was a huge deal. Sumrall is a good coach and a nice pickup for the Gators, but he’s still going to need help.
