New Orleans Saints Inactives for Saints/Patriots Week 5 Matchup

by Niles Carpenter/Saints Contributor

As the New Orleans Saints prepare to face off against the New England Patriots in Week 5 of the NFL season, the list of inactives for both teams has been released.

New Orleans Saints Inactives:

Tight end Juwan Johnson: Johnson, a promising young tight end, will be inactive for the game.

Safety Lonnie Johnson Jr.: Johnson Jr., a key player in the Saints’ secondary, will not be available to contribute to the team’s defensive efforts against the Patriots.

Quarterback Jake Luton: Jake Luton, the backup quarterback, will be on the inactive list. This suggests that the Saints are confident in their starting quarterback and do not require Luton as a backup for this game.

Guard Andrus Peat: Peat, an offensive guard, will be sidelined for this matchup.

Receiver A.T. Perry: Perry, a wide receiver, will not be part of the Saints’ receiving corps for this game, which could affect their passing game.

Defensive end Kyle Phillips: Phillips, a defensive end, will be inactive.

Offensive lineman Landon Young: Young, an offensive lineman, will not be available to bolster the offensive line’s performance.

New England Patriots Inactives:

WR Kayshon Boutte: Wide receiver Boutte will not be in action for the Patriots.

OT Calvin Anderson: Offensive tackle Anderson is on the inactive list.

LG Cole Strange: Left guard Strange will not be participating in the matchup.

OT Tyrone Wheatley Jr.: Offensive tackle Wheatley Jr. is also inactive for the game.

3rd QB/emergency Will Grier: Grier, the third quarterback on the roster, will not be available for the Patriots.

OLB Matthew Judon: It’s important to note that Judon is listed as inactive but has not been placed on the injured reserve (IR) yet. His absence could impact the Patriots’ defense.

As both teams navigate these inactives, the coaching staff will need to make strategic decisions to maximize their chances of success in this Week 5 matchup.
