New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Saturday Injury Report: Week 2 Clash

by Niles Carpenter/Saints Contributor

As the New Orleans Saints gear up for their Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football during the 2023 NFL season, both teams are keeping a close eye on their injury reports. Here’s the latest update on the key players and their status for the highly anticipated clash.

New Orleans Saints:

J.T. Gray (Safety): Gray is dealing with a shoulder injury and has been limited in practice throughout the week. He was listed as “Questionable” on the Saturday injury report. Gray’s availability for Monday’s game remains uncertain, and his status will likely be a game-time decision.

Kendre Miller (Running Back): Miller has been nursing a hamstring injury and, like Gray, was listed as “Questionable” on Saturday’s injury report. He has also been limited in practice this week, and his status for the Panthers matchup hangs in the balance.

Ryan Ramczyk (Tackle): Ramczyk was given some rest earlier in the week, but he returned to full practice participation on both Friday and Saturday. Barring any setbacks, he appears to be in good shape to take the field against the Panthers.

Jimmy Graham (Tight End): Like Ramczyk, Graham was rested on Thursday but was a full participant in practice on both Friday and Saturday. He is expected to be available for Monday night’s game.

Juwan Johnson (Tight End): Johnson has been dealing with a calf issue but showed significant improvement by practicing in full on both Friday and Saturday. He is on track to play against the Panthers.

Carolina Panthers:

D.J. Chark (Wide Receiver): Chark has been dealing with a hamstring injury and was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. However, he made significant progress and was a full participant in Saturday’s practice. His status is still “Questionable,” but the likelihood of him suiting up on Monday seems more promising.

Taylor Moton (Tackle): Moton has been nursing a biceps injury and was limited in practice on both Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s report does not provide an update on his status, leaving some uncertainty surrounding his availability for the upcoming matchup.

It’s worth noting that Friday’s report from Carolina is an estimation due to a team walkthrough, which may not reflect the true extent of player readiness. As Monday night approaches, both teams will continue to monitor the condition of these key players closely.
