The New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts are preparing for their Week 8 showdown, but both teams are dealing with a slew of injuries. Thursday’s injury report gave some clarity on which players might be available for Sunday’s game, and it’s clear that both teams have some concerns.
New Orleans Saints:
The Saints listed a whopping thirteen players on their injury report. Here’s a closer look:
| Position | Name | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| G/T | James Hurst | Ankle | DNP | DNP |
| RB | Alvin Kamara | Illness | DNP | FP |
| TE | Juwan Johnson | Calf | LP | LP |
| S | J.T. Gray | Hamstring | LP | DNP |
| T | Landon Young | Hip | LP | LP |
| T | Ryan Ramczyk | Concussion | LP | FP |
| LB | Demario Davis | Knee | LP | LP |
| S | Tyrann Mathieu | Foot | LP | LP |
| S | Marcus Maye | Hamstring/Illness | LP | LP |
| QB | Taysom Hill | Chest | LP | LP |
| CB | Alontae Taylor | Hip | – | LP |
| G | Max Garcia | Illness | – | LP |
| TE | Jimmy Graham | Illness | – | LP |
It’s promising to see Alvin Kamara and Ryan Ramczyk upgraded to full participation. However, J.T. Gray’s downgrade from limited to did not participate is concerning.
Indianapolis Colts:
The Colts have their own share of injury woes:
| Position | Name | Injury | Wednesday | Thursday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CB | Juju Brents | Quadricep | DNP | DNP |
| TE | Kylen Granson | Concussion | DNP | DNP |
| DT | Eric Johnson II | Ankle | DNP | DNP |
| RB | Zack Moss | Elbow/Heel | DNP | LP |
| T | Braden Smith | Hip/Wrist | DNP | DNP |
While Zack Moss‘s upgrade to limited practice is a good sign for the Colts, there are still several key players who remained non-participants.
Final Thoughts:
Both the Saints and Colts have some key players dealing with injuries, and their availability could be game-changers come Sunday. Coaches and medical staff from both teams will be working tirelessly to get their players in the best shape for this crucial Week 8 matchup.
