Newly signed Saints’ Guard Trai Turner Ruled Out for Season Due to Quadriceps Injury

by Avery Devereaux/ Saints Contributor

Former Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner’s stint with the New Orleans Saints got off to a devastating start as he suffered a season-ending quadriceps tear during 11-on-11 drills on Thursday. The 30-year-old, who recently signed with the Saints, was anticipated to be a key addition to the team’s offensive line.

Turner’s injury comes as a significant blow to the Saints, who were counting on his experience and skill to bolster their offensive front reserves this season. Having played for various teams, including the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers, Turner’s absence will undoubtedly be felt on the field.

Meanwhile, the Saints also had some positive news on the injury front as offensive tackle Trevor Penning returned to practice after a brief absence due to a minor foot injury. However, the team opted to give rest days to offensive linemen Ryan Ramczyk and Cesar Ruiz.
