Copied!
The NFL fined the Baltimore Ravens $100,000 for violating its Injury Report Policy by incorrectly listing quarterback Lamar Jackson‘s practice participation status on Friday, Oct. 24, the league announced.
The Ravens accepted the fine and will not appeal.
“It is critical that the Baltimore Ravens always operate with integrity and in full accordance with NFL guidelines,” the team said in a statement. “We clearly made an error regarding player injury reporting and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation. We accept the decision by the NFL that we violated the policy and have taken steps to ensure that we will be compliant moving forward.
“We will not appeal the ruling and are focused on our upcoming game versus the Vikings.”

Prior to Baltimore’s Week 8 game, Jackson was initially listed as a full participant on Friday’s injury report and questionable to play against Chicago. On Saturday, Baltimore updated his Friday practice participation to “limited” and downgraded the quarterback to out.
“Lamar Jackson was present for and participated fully in our entire Friday practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the Bears,” the Ravens said at the time. “Upon further evaluation today and after conferring with the league office, because Lamar didn’t take starter reps in practice, we updated our report to reflect his practice participation.”
Jackson, in fact, practiced with the scout team on Friday, an indication he was not ready to return to action.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that the team’s injury list mix-up was an “honest mistake.” After an investigation, the NFL concluded that to be the case.
Baltimore fully cooperated with the investigation, which the league ultimately determined was the result of negligence and not an attempt to gain a competitive advantage. If the investigation had determined the violation was intentional or competitive in nature, the discipline would have been more significant, including the potential loss of draft picks.
