NFL issues statement on Lamar Jackson shoving Bills fan

The NFL has issued a statement on Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson shoving a Buffalo Bills fan during the game on Sunday night. On Thursday, the league announced Jackson will not be disciplined for the incident.

“The matter has been addressed by the club and there is no further action from the league,” the NFL said in a statement. That came per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

The altercation happened after Lamar Jackson threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins during the Sunday Night Football contest. The two-time NFL MVP shoved the fan after the fan pushed his helmet. The fan also shoved Hopkins’ helmet.

This is not the first time Jackson has had an altercation with a fan. During the Ravens’ final preseason game against the Washington Commanders last month, Jackson made an NSFW gesture to a Commanders fan who was trash-talking him. The NFL did not punish him for the incident.

Jackson is looking to lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl title after coming up short the last few seasons. During the 2023 season, Baltimore lost to the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Conference Championship. Last year, the Ravens lost to the Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs.
