The Bills were on the verge of seeing their AFC East title streak snap after falling behind 21-0 on the road in Foxborough in Week 15. A Patriots victory would have clinched the division for New England for the first time since 2019. The Patriots will have to wait for another opportunity to clinch the division.
Buffalo started Sunday with three consecutive drives ending in punts before reigning MVP and father-to-be Josh Allen led the Bills on five consecutive touchdown drives. Allen finished the game with three passing touchdowns and is now tied with Matthew Stafford for the most offensive touchdowns in the NFL in 2025 (37).
Allen has accounted for at least 35 touchdowns in six career seasons, joining Tom Brady (seven such seasons), Aaron Rodgers (7) and Drew Brees (6) as the only players in NFL history with at least six seasons of 35-plus offensive touchdowns.
The comeback in Week 15 was the 86th win in Allen’s career, tied with Brady and Russell Wilson for the second-most wins by a quarterback in his first eight seasons all time. Only Patrick Mahomes (89) has more — and Allen has a chance to tie that mark if he starts and wins each of the Bills’ three remaining games.
And now for some Allen singularity: 2025 is the third season in his career with at least 25 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns. No other player in NFL history has a single season with 25 pass touchdowns and 12 rush touchdowns.
