No. 2 Texas women continue to shine defensively in win over No. 11 North Carolina

It is becoming clear that the second-ranked Texas women have a stout defense after picking up a fourth win already over a ranked opponent. The Longhorns took down No. 11 North Carolina, 79-64, to improve to 9-0, adding to other ranked wins over then-No. 24 Richmond, No. 3 UCLA and No. 2 South Carolina. A prevailing theme has been the defensive tenacity of the Longhorns, having forced an average of 24 turnovers per game, which ranked 15th in the country entering Thursday.  Not only has Texas excelled forcing turnovers, but it has prevented opposing teams from knocking down triples. Look no further than Thursday night’s win over North Carolina when the Tar Heels were held to just 2-of-11 (18%).
