By Milton Manningham, LSU Football Contributor

No. 8 LSU continued its dominant run in the Battle for The Golden Boot series, defeating Arkansas 34-10 on the road Saturday night to improve to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in SEC play. The Tigers, led by Caden Durham’s 101-yard, three-touchdown performance, controlled the game on the ground, while kicker Damian Ramos added a career-best four field goals.

LSU’s defense was stellar, limiting Arkansas to just 277 total yards and forcing three turnovers, including a key interception by Whit Weeks in the third quarter that set up Durham’s third touchdown.

Garrett Nussmeier contributed 224 passing yards, with CJ Daniels catching seven passes for 86 yards to help keep the offense moving. Despite being flagged 11 times, LSU maintained control throughout the game.

Ramos, who famously lifted LSU past Arkansas with a game-winning kick last season, connected on field goals of 33, 33, 47, and 48 yards, showcasing his reliability. The Tigers have now won eight of the last nine meetings in the rivalry, including five straight wins in Fayetteville dating back to 2016.

With No. 7 Alabama’s loss to Tennessee, LSU is expected to rise in the rankings as they prepare for a crucial road matchup against No. 14 Texas A&M. The Tigers’ defense, which held Arkansas to a season-low 38 rushing yards, looks ready for the challenge as the game against Texas A&M could determine an early lead in the SEC.
