The top of the Big 12 standings might look crowded, but after a dominant home win over previously undefeated BYU, Texas Tech sits alone. College Football Playoff No. 8 Texas Tech Red Raiders (9-1, 6-1 in Big 12) handled No. 7 BYU Cougars (8-1, 5-1 in Big 12) easily, 29-7, in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the final score indicated. The Red Raiders out-gained the Cougars, 368-255, including 149-67 on the ground. BYU punted on six of its first eight possessions and only had one drive reach the red zone, compared to seven for Texas Tech. The Red Raiders are one of three teams in the Big 12 with one conference loss, but they’re unquestionably the best team in the conference. Each of Texas Tech’s nine wins have come by at least 22 points.
