New Orleans Pelicans‘ all-defensive forward, Herb Jones, has earned his first NBA All-Defensive Team accolade, highlighting his exceptional defensive skills. While Jones missed out on an All-Star bid, the 25-year-old from Alabama secured a place on the prestigious All-Defensive First Team, joining the ranks of Miami’s Bam Adebayo, the Lakers’ Anthony Davis, Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert, and San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama. Jones finished fourth in voting, surpassing Davis by eight points.
During the ’23-’24 season, Jones led the Pelicans in steals with 105 and ranked second in blocks with 62, including 15 against three-point attempts, cementing his reputation as an elite perimeter defender. His efforts were pivotal in maintaining the Pelicans’ top ten scoring defense ranking for two consecutive seasons. Offensively, Jones contributed with an average of 11.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game, shooting 49.8% from the field & 41.8% from downtown.
