An Edmonton Oilers player has finally dropped the gloves. After the Colorado Avalanche demolished the Oilers 9-1 on Saturday, Trent Frederic was one of just three Oilers players to speak to the media, noting that no one wants to fight a player with just one goal through 15 games. Well, he found a dance partner on Monday evening. Just over two minutes into Monday evening’s games, Frederic dropped the mitts with Columbus Blue Jackets tough guy Mathieu Olivier, one of the toughest players in the league. As one could imagine, Frederic didn’t win the fight and had to get repairs. Frederic eventually returned to the ice, playing a minute and 34 seconds in the first period over the course of two shifts.
