Ole Miss football player killed in shooting at 18

An Ole Miss football player was shot and killed over the weekend in what police have determined was a homicide. The Ole Miss football team announced on Sunday that freshman edge rusher Corey Adams has died at age 18. “We are devastated to learn that Corey Adams, a freshman on the team, passed away last night in Cordova, Tennessee. While our program is trying to cope with this tragic loss, our thoughts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Out of respect for his family, we will not be commenting further at this time. We ask the Ole Miss community to keep Corey in their thoughts and respect the privacy of everyone involved.” The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced on Saturday night that detectives were investigating a shooting that took place at 10:14 p.m. outside a residence in Cordova, Tenn.
