Packers need more consistency from QB Jordan Love to remain in Super Bowl hunt

On Sunday, Jordan Love turned 27, which has been the lucky number for Green Bay Packers quarterbacks.  Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Green Bay QBs Aaron Rodgers (2010 season), Brett Favre (1996 season) and Bart Starr (1961 season) won their first championships during their age-27 seasons. (Starr won his first title before the start of the Super Bowl era.) However, questions remain about whether Love is following in the footsteps of his predecessors, especially after he struggled Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. In Green Bay’s home game against Carolina, Love completed 26-of-37 passes for 273 yards and one interception. He also posted a season-low 80.1 passer rating, below the league average.  Love’s performance left Green Bay — which averaged just 5.9 yards per play — unable to generate much offense. Surprisingly, the team didn’t score any points in the first quarter. This allowed Carolina to pull off a 16-13 upset. The Packers are now 5-2-1, while the Panthers are 5-4.
