NFL commissioner Roger Goodell released an internal memo to NFL employees amid the acts of the Park Avenue shooter Monday. Goodell also revealed an NFL employee was among those seriously injured in the attack.

The suspect related to the Park Avenue shooting in midtown Manhattan is dead, per ABC News.  The shooter, who has been identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura, reportedly “killed himself.” The New York Post reported that “at least four other people were shot and killed — and at least six others (were) injured” in the aftermath of the event.

“NFL employees: As has been widely reported, a gunman committed an unspeakable act of violence in our building at 345 Park Avenue,” Goodell’s memo said. “One of our employees was seriously injured in this attack. He is currently in the hospital and in stable condition. NFL staff are at the hospital and we are supporting his family.

“We believe that all of our employees are otherwise sage and accounted for, and the building has nearly been cleared. We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement officers who responded to this threat quickly and decisively and to Officer Islam, who gave his life to protect others. Please continue to pay close attention to GSOC notices for all available emergency information. These communications allow us to ensure that you are safe.”

Goodell also announced new security measures at the building on Park Avenue in light of the shooting. Employees were also encouraged to use the company’s resources available to them.
