The New Orleans Pelicans have signed free agent guard Jalen Crutcher to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract, according to RealGM’s NBA transactions log. Crutcher, a former standout from Dayton, went undrafted in 2021 and has since spent three seasons honing his skills in the G League.
His most recent stint was with the Birmingham Squadron, where he averaged 17.0 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 40.5% from three-point range. Crutcher’s strong performances earned him a 10-day contract with the Pelicans last February, allowing him to make his NBA debut on Feb. 27.
In a corresponding move, the Pelicans have waived guard Galen Robinson Jr. Crutcher’s new deal gives him an opportunity to earn a roster spot, and his previous success with the Squadron suggests he may be a valuable addition. As the Pelicans continue to refine their backcourt depth, Crutcher will look to carry his G League momentum into training camp and potentially secure a long-term role in New Orleans.
