The New Orleans Pelicans soared past the Brooklyn Nets with a resounding 112-85 victory on Tuesday night, marking their third consecutive win and their eighth in the last 11 games. The Pelicans’ performance was nothing short of dominant, commencing the game on a high with a 9-0 run, a lead they held unwaveringly, stretching it to as much as 32 points at one juncture. CJ McCollum and Herb Jones were at the forefront of this offensive onslaught, scoring 16 and 14 points respectively, setting the tone for a game that would be all about New Orleans‘ assertive play.

The Nets, on the other hand, found themselves ensnared in a web of offensive struggles, marking the occasion as their season’s lowest point tally. Notably, Brooklyn’s Cam Thomas, a usual suspect for high scores, found himself in an unusual rut, missing all his attempts.

The collective effort from the Nets saw them shooting at a season-worst 35.7%, a stark contrast to the Pelicans’ robust defense and efficient scoring. The disparity was evident, with New Orleans‘ players like Jose Alvarado and Jonas Valanciunas contributing significantly to both the scoreboard and the rebound count, ensuring the Pelicans kept their foot on the gas throughout the game.

The Pelicans’ strategy and teamwork were on full display, with no player clocking more than 25 minutes on the court, yet managing to get 13 players in the game, 12 of whom scored. This depth and efficient management starkly highlighted the team’s collective strength and the off-night for the Nets. New Orleans‘ sharp 50% shooting from the 3-point range, particularly evident in their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers, continued to blaze through, hitting 10 of 20 3s in the first half alone.

This performance not only fortified their position but also sent a resonating message across the league – the Pelicans are a force to be reckoned with, their eyes set firmly on soaring higher in the season.
