Pelicans Blasted By Lakers 124-108, Headed to Play-In

By Rell Wright, Pelicans Contributor

In a decisive clash that determined postseason trajectories, the Los Angeles Lakers emerged victorious with a 124-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron James showcased his readiness for the playoffs, contributing an impressive triple-double with 28 points, 17 assists, and 11 rebounds, proving a crucial force on both ends of the floor. This victory secured the Lakers the eighth seed in the Western Conference and relegated the Pelicans to the play-in games, missing out on a direct playoff berth.

Anthony Davis, against his former team, not only scored 30 points but also grabbed 11 rebounds, though he exited the game early due to back issues which he later downplayed as non-serious. The Lakers dominated inside, outscoring the Pelicans 68-42 in the paint, while Pelicans star Zion Williamson was limited to just 12 points. The teams are set to face each other again in a high-stakes play-in match, determining who advances to claim the seventh seed.
