Pelicans NBA Prospects at 58 — Big Q breaks down the New Orleans Pelicans’ options with the 58th pick in the NBA Draft, including Solomon Washington’s pre-draft workout with New Orleans and several potential second-round or two-way contract targets.
The Pelicans could look for defense, rim protection, backcourt depth, developmental size, or high-energy athleticism late in the draft. Big Q covers prospects such as Keba Keita, Bruce Thornton, Baba Miller, Felix Okpara, and Izaiyah Nelson, while also discussing whether New Orleans could try to trade into the first round.
Prospects covered include:
Keba Keita, C, BYU — athletic rim protector, high motor rebounder, and physical backup center option. Bruce Thornton, PG, Ohio State — strong senior guard, polished scorer, and steady backup floor general. Baba Miller, PF, Cincinnati — 6’11” developmental forward with passing, rebounding, and perimeter upside. Felix Okpara, C, Tennessee — defense-first shot blocker and traditional rim-running big. Izaiyah Nelson, PF/C, South Florida — explosive transition athlete and above-the-rim finisher.
Big Q also covers how these prospects could fit Jamahl Mosley’s defensive, physical, development-focused Pelicans identity.
