Pelicans’ Dramatic Recovery Stuns Thunder 110-106

On a riveting Wednesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans showcased their tenacity, erasing a staggering 22-point gap to triumph over the Oklahoma City Thunder, finishing 110-106. The spotlight was on CJ McCollum, who displayed a phenomenal performance with 29 points and 11 rebounds. Moreover, Zion Williamson didn’t lag, securing 20 points, nine boards, and eight assists. Impressively, the Pelicans pulled off this feat even without their star forward, Brandon Ingram, sidelined due to a knee injury.

Oklahoma City Thunder, though on the losing side, witnessed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander pouring in 20 points. However, a missed 3-pointer in the crucial final seconds denied them a lead. Additionally, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams pitched in with notable scores. The game’s beginning seemed to be in Thunder’s favor, especially with Josh Giddey’s swift 10 points setting a strong 33-14 lead. The atmosphere was electric when Giddey set up Ousmane Dieng for a spectacular dunk. However, as the game progressed, the Pelicans warmed up, with Jonas Valanciunas‘ vital 3-pointer tipping the balance in their favor.

Closing stages saw the Pelicans embarking on a decisive 14-4 spree, reaching a lead of 92-81. The Thunder tried to bounce back but fell just short. The Pelicans now gear up to face the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.
