Pelicans Fall Short in Final Summer League Game VS Denver 91-82

By Rell Wright, Pelicans Contributor

The New Orleans Pelicans wrapped up their 2024 Summer League campaign with a 0-5 record, concluding with a 91-82 defeat against the Denver Nuggets in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite the absence of key players like 2024 first-round pick Yves Missi and last year’s second-round selection Karlo Matkovic, the Pelicans put up a commendable fight. Summer League Coach Aaron Miles had to rely on his available roster, and guard Keion Brooks Jr. stepped up impressively, leading the team with 24 points in 28 minutes of action.

Alongside Brooks, Jordan Ford delivered a strong performance, contributing 20 points and hitting 4 of his 8 attempts from beyond the arc. Additionally, 2024 second-round pick Antonio Reeves showcased his shooting skills, scoring 18 points and going 4-10 from three-point range. Despite their valiant efforts, the Pelicans couldn’t secure a victory, ending their Summer League run without a win. The team now looks ahead to the regular season, hoping to integrate their young talent and build on the lessons learned from their Summer League experience.
