The New Orleans Pelicans fell just short in a heart-wrenching 121-120 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite missing key players like Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum, the Pelicans showcased their resilience, leading for the majority of the game and even building a commanding 15-point advantage. Jonas Valanciunas was a force to be reckoned with, contributing 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the Pelicans.

With time winding down, Brandon Ingram had a chance to secure the win, but his mid-range jumper failed to find the mark. The loss marked a tough ending for Ingram, who struggled in the fourth quarter, managing just one field goal and committing two turnovers.

On the other side, Karl-Anthony Towns proved to be the difference-maker for the Timberwolves, as he broke from a sideline huddle with the weight of the game on his shoulders. Towns’ next shot would determine the outcome, and he delivered, securing the comeback victory for Minnesota.

The Pelicans, despite their valiant effort, fell just short in a game that could have gone either way. As they look ahead, they will host Sacramento on Monday, aiming to bounce back and put this tough loss behind them. The Pelicans fall to 6-7 on the season and are currently third in the Southwest Division standings.
