In a commanding performance at New Orleans, the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell‘s notable return, outplayed the Pelicans with a 116-95 victory. Mitchell, back after missing seven games, contributed 14 points, including four 3-pointers, highlighting a game dominated by Cleveland’s long-range prowess. The Cavaliers, with a total of 20 3-pointers, saw significant contributions from Darius Garland, Sam Merrill, and Georges Niang, overshadowing the Pelicans’ efforts. Garland’s 27 points and 11 assists marked his consecutive double-double, while the Pelicans struggled from beyond the arc, making only 4 of 22 attempts.
Despite Zion Williamson‘s impressive 33 points and New Orleans‘ advantages in paint scoring and free throws, the disparity in 3-point shooting proved decisive.
