The New Orleans Pelicans have bolstered their roster by signing several undrafted players, including Oregon Ducks guard Jermaine Couisnard. Couisnard, a 25-year-old guard, showcased his skills during his final season at Oregon, averaging 16.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
His collegiate journey began with four seasons at South Carolina before transferring to Oregon for his final two years. Couisnard’s impressive performance caught the attention of the Pelicans, who signed him to a two-way contract. This agreement allows Couisnard to split his time between the Pelicans and their G-League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.
Another notable addition is Keion Brooks Jr., who hails from the University of Washington. Brooks, a Fort Wayne native, had a standout season with the Huskies, averaging 21.1 points per game and earning a spot on the All-PAC-12 First Team.
Before his time at Washington, Brooks played for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he developed his game and prepared for his transition to the professional level. The Pelicans are eager to see how Brooks’ scoring ability and athleticism will contribute to their lineup, both in the NBA and the G-League.
Rounding out the trio of signings is Josh Oduro from Providence. Oduro, a big man who earned All-Big East Honorable Mention honors, brings significant frontcourt depth to the Pelicans. In his final season, he averaged 15.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, two assists, and 1.3 blocks per game, while shooting an impressive 52.7% from the field.
Oduro’s consistent performance and ability to impact the game on both ends of the court make him a valuable asset to the Pelicans’ roster.
