The New Orleans Pelicans have made a significant move, acquiring guard Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. In exchange, the Pelicans will send a 2025 first-round pick (via the Los Angeles Lakers), a 2027 least-favorable first-round pick (between the Milwaukee Bucks and Pelicans), and Larry Nance Jr. to Atlanta.

Murray, who was brought to the Hawks in 2022 to complement Trae Young, posted solid individual stats, averaging 21.5 points per game over 152 appearances. However, the Hawks struggled as a team, finishing with a 77-87 record and a first-round playoff exit. The Pelicans hope Murray’s skills will bolster their roster and push them deeper into the playoffs.
