The New Orleans Pelicans’ tough stretch continued as they suffered a 137-101 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dominated with 31 points in just three quarters, leading the Thunder to a historic night with a franchise-record 27 made three-pointers.
Despite strong efforts from Trey Murphy III (23 points) and Zion Williamson (17 points), the Pelicans struggled to keep pace, plagued by turnovers and a depleted roster missing key players like CJ McCollum and Dejounte Murray.
Oklahoma City’s relentless offense and stifling defense proved too much for New Orleans, with Chet Holmgren contributing 12 points, six rebounds, and five blocks in a commanding performance.
As the Pelicans endure their ninth consecutive loss, they look to rebound at home against Sacramento on Wednesday. Can they rally and regain their footing in a challenging season?
