Pelicans Tame Bulls 119-113 on the Road

By Rell Wright, Pelicans Contributor

The New Orleans Pelicans showcased resilience and teamwork on Tuesday night, overcoming early shooting struggles to defeat the Chicago Bulls 119-113 on the road. Trey Murphy III led the charge with an impressive 32 points, going a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line, while Zion Williamson added 21 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists in just his third game back from injury.

The Pelicans, despite sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, have now won four of their last seven games, offering a glimpse of their potential when firing on all cylinders.

A pivotal fourth-quarter surge sealed the win for New Orleans. With the game tied at 88, Jose Alvarado ignited a 10-2 run with back-to-back three-pointers, forcing the Bulls to regroup. The Pelicans shot an efficient 12-for-22 in the final period, outpacing a Bulls team that struggled to convert key opportunities.

Zach LaVine, limited to just two points in the first half, finished with 25 to lead Chicago, while Nikola Vucevic added a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds. The Pelicans will look to build on this momentum as they return home to face the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
