New Orleans,LA – New Orleans Pelicans today released that the team will hold out starters Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram & Jrue Holiday from tomorrows game. Coach Alvin Gentry said that the inactives are for “precautionary” reasons. He further states “Obviously some of them have been banged up most of the season and stuff, But it’s just a precautionary thing, really. We sat down and just agreed that it’s the right thing to do right now.”
Williamson who bump knees with another San Antonio player has been under minute restrictions all season long. He has averaged 22.5 PPG 6.3 Rebounds with 2.1 assist in 24 games this season. Brandon Ingram who is an first time All-star averaged 23.8 PPG, 6.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds in 62 games. Holiday, whose one of the better two-way players in the league averaged 19.1 PPG 6.7 assists 5 rebounds in 61 contests.
New Orleans with nothing left to play for after being shamelessly eliminated, is opting to simply see with younger talent can do. The Pelicans have two remaining games left on the schedule verses the Sacramento Kings & the Orlando Magic.
