New Orleans,LA– The New Orleans Pelicans confirmed Coach Alvin Gentry has been cleared to travel with the team to the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida. Gentry who is 65, was notified minutes before the team bus which was scheduled to take the team to the airport. Coach Gentry was receiving extra scrutiny due to concerns about the coronavirus.
Last week two other Pelican Coaches were confirmed that aren’t making the trip with the team. The coaches are Jeff Bzdelik and Jamelle McMillan who will not join the team due different concerns. According to sources, Bzdelik whose 67, won’t join the team after consultation with team doctors. Coach McMillan will remain behind to help take of his newborn son (Congratulations Coach Jemelle).
The Pelicans regular season commences once again on July 30 as they face off against the Utah Jazz. New Orleans is 28-36 looking to take the hold of the final spot in a difficult race to the playoffs.
