Perfect trade target could emerge for Edmonton Oilers to land a star goalie

As much as everyone wants to deny it, the clock is ticking on the Edmonton Oilers’ (6-5-4) window to win a Stanley Cup with Connor McDavid. The captain just signed a two-year, $25 million extension to stay with the Oilers, but if anything, that just signals how much runway the organization has to finish the job and win a championship with McDavid at the helm. If they want to keep the best player in the world in Edmonton beyond that timeline, winning is a must, and given the current state of the roster, improvements need to be made if they hope to return to the Stanley Cup Final and get over that last hump.
