Philip Rivers gives hilarious response when asked about weight in first Colts press conference

It’s been nearly five years since Philip Rivers took his last snap in the NFL . That next snap could come soon — perhaps Sunday — after the Indianapolis Colts signed him Tuesday to their practice squad.

Indianapolis signed Rivers after Daniel Jones tore his Achilles this past Sunday. With Anthony Richardson  (orbital bone fracture) on injured reserve and Riley Leonard  week-to-week with a strained knee ligament, the Colts reached out to Rivers, who played for the Colts in 2020 and has a close relationship with head coach Shane Steichen .

But at 44 years old with 10 kids at home and also having the title as grandfather, it’s fair to question what kind of physical shape Rivers is in. During his Wednesday press conference with the Indianapolis media, he was asked point blank what he weighs at this moment. In true Rivers fashion, his answer got plenty of laughter out of the room.

“Right this second? I’m not sure,” Rivers said, via FOX59 News . “How about that? That’s an honest answer.”

Rivers later elaborated. Let’s just say his weight isn’t what it was back on Jan. 9, 2021, the AFC Wild Card Round game against the Buffalo Bills.
