The Pittsburgh Steelers have claimed wide receiver Adam Thielen off of waivers, according to multiple reports. Thielen joins the Steelers after the Minnesota Vikings waived him on Monday.
Before the start of the 2025 season, Adam Thielen joined the Vikings after the Carolina Panthers traded him. He played in 11 games this year and caught eight passes for 69 yards. Thielen requested to be released from the Vikings because he wanted to play for a contender in his final NFL season.
Thielen will now have a chance to make a playoff run with the Steelers, who will play in an important game on Sunday. Pittsburgh will take on the Baltimore Ravens for sole possession of the AFC North. In his career, Thielen has played in six playoff games and has never appeared in a Super Bowl.
In 2013, Thielen joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent and signed with the Vikings after a tryout with the team. He spent 10 seasons with the Vikings and was selected to the Pro Bowl twice and the All-Pro Second Team in 2017. In March 2023, Thielen signed a three-year, $25 million contract with the Panthers. He was in Carolina for two seasons before returning to the Vikings this year.
