Rams clinch NFL's first playoff berth, head to postseason for third year in a row

For the third season in a row and the seventh in head coach Sean McVay’s nine-year tenure, the Los Angeles Rams are headed to the postseason.

Los Angeles became the first NFL team to punch its ticket to the playoff dance with its 41-34 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon.

The NFC’s top-seeded Rams improved to 11-3 with three games still to play, already their highest win total since winning the Super Bowl in 2021.

One of two teams — along with the NFC West-rival Seattle Seahawks — boasting a top-five offense and defense entering Week 15, the Rams garnered plenty of preseason Super Bowl buzz and have followed suit right along that path. They won their second game in a row Sunday and their eighth out of the last nine.
