Ravens slapped with major fine by NFL over Lamar Jackson injury issue

The NFL has fined the Baltimore Ravens $100,000 for violating the league’s injury report policy by incorrectly listing quarterback Lamar Jackson as a full participant on last Friday’s practice participation report, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The hefty fine comes after Jackson returned from a three-game absence with a hamstring injury to throw four touchdowns in the Ravens’ 28-6 win over the Miami Dolphins.

The Ravens released a statement shortly after Schefter’s news acknowledging the team “clearly made an error regarding player injury reporting and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation” and will not appeal the NFL’s fine.

The issue arose after the Ravens retroactively changed Jackson’s status from “full participant” to “limited” in last Friday’s practice report. That was after it was determined the former NFL MVP only worked with the scout team and did not take any first-team reps.
