Report: Bill Belichick bans North Carolina from promoting New England Patriots, Drake Maye

Bill Belichick and staff reportedly have a directive for North Carolina social media to share anything related to the New England Patriots. CBS Sports ‘ Ross Martin reported as much because the UNC football program did not mention anything about former QB Drake Maye and his solid Sunday night performance for the New England Patriots.

“According to sources inside the UNC football program, it is a directive from the staff (Bill Belichick) to not tweet/retweet anything Patriots-related,” Martin wrote on Twitter/X. “That’s clearly why UNC football has not posted anything from Drake Maye’s electric primetime win over the Buffalo Bills.”

Maye led the Patriots to a win over the previously-undefeated Buffalo Bills on the road, 23-20. As Martin put it, Maye is a huge tool for North Carolina recruiting that Belichick and crew aren’t using.
