At the MLB trade deadline, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reported the Braves had conversations around Twins All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton. “One source said the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets showed the most interest in Buxton,” Hayes wrote. He would then add that the Braves were one of two teams that pushed extremely hard. Buxton made it very clear at this year’s All-Star break that his loyalties lie in Minnesota. However, the Twins underwent a fire sale at the trade deadline.
