According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns are signing quarterback Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley to their roster. While the Browns already have four signal callers, some injuries mean more bodies inside the room are needed. Huntley now has an opportunity to step up in Cleveland.
“Sources: Browns are signing QB Tyler ‘Snoop’ Huntley, who spent part of last season with Cleveland,” Schefter said via X. “With Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel nursing hamstring injuries, and Shedeur Sanders having a sore shoulder, the Browns need another arm. Enter Huntley.”
Huntley spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, starting in five games. He finished with 829 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. As usual, Huntley was a weapon on the ground too, by adding 135 rushing yards and two scores on just 26 attempts.
Most of his playing experience comes in the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens. Huntley spent the first four years of his career with the Ravens, backing up Lamar Jackson. However, a decent amount of playing time came his way with 20 games, nine of which were starts.
Friday night will bring the first preseason game of the year for the Browns. Scheduled to face off against the Carolina Panthers, it will be interesting to see if Huntley takes the field. Cleveland may have no other options if quarterbacks are not back to fulls strength in the coming days.
