The Milwaukee Bucks stunned the NBA on Tuesday when they decided to waive Damian Lillard, but the star point guard is said to be excited for the future. The Bucks will waive Lillard and stretch the remaining $113 million on his contract over the next five seasons. By freeing up some money in the near term, Milwaukee was able to sign veteran center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal. According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Lillard is “elated” that the Bucks waived him. The nine-time All-Star is now in the rare position of being able to sign with a championship contender on a team-friendly deal while still collecting his salary from Milwaukee.
