ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that the Detroit Lions have complained to the NFL about how teams are blocking Aidan Hutchinson , and Marcus Spears has a strong reaction. On Monday NFL Countdown , Schefter reported that the Lions have “raised the issue” of teams blocking low on Hutchison to the league office.

Schefter pointed out that when the Lions took on the Green Bay Packers in the season opener, the Packers’ offensive players went at Aidan Hutchinson’s legs to block him. He then mentioned the Chicago Bears did the same thing when they faced the Lions last week.

“The Detroit Lions have taken notice, and they’ve asked the league office to monitor the plays against Aidan Hutchinson,” Schefter said. “Not that that will protect him out there, but clearly, people have noticed some of these plays, and the Lions want the league office to notice as well.”

Marcus Spears, a former defensive lineman in the NFL who played nine seasons, said what the offensive players are doing against Hutchinson is fair play. “Aidan Hutchinson, because of his ability, they tell him to cut him and not try to block him straight up because he can still crash down and make the play,” Spears said on the pregame show for Monday Night Football.
