Report: Mike McCarthy to interview for HC opening with team drafting inside top five

On Saturday, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is scheduled to interview with the Tennessee Titans for their head coach opening, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter . McCarthy was the Cowboys’ head coach from 2020-24.

In his five seasons at the helm of the organization, McCarthy led the Cowboys to a 49-35 overall record. Dallas went 1-3 in the NFL playoffs under McCarthy and never advanced to the NFC Championship game.

Prior to his time in Dallas, McCarthy was the Green Bay Packers’ head coach from 2006-18. In 2010, McCarthy guided the Packers to their first Super Bowl win since 1996. The Tennessee Titans have never won the Super Bowl.

McCarthy also had an interview scheduled with the New York Giants, but the organization ultimately hired John Harbaugh . If McCarthy accepts an offer to coach the Titans, he’ll have a tall task ahead of him.

Tennessee has posted back-to-back 3-14 seasons. In fact, the organization hasn’t had a winning season since 2021.
