Report reveals previously unknown scary gun-related incident involving Andy Reid

A bullet went through Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid’s office in May 2024, The Kansas City Star reported Wednesday. No one was hurt.

Reid was not hit or injured by the gunshot, the Kansas City Police Department said. He was working alone in the room when the bullet came from outside, putting a hole through the window and blinds. It lodged in a wall between his bathroom and the room’s entrance – roughly 15 feet from his desk.

After the incident, the team installed bulletproof glass. Kansas City police have not made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The bullet that went through Reid’s office was one of three to hit the Chiefs’ facility that day. One hit the third floor and another hit an outside air conditioner, according to the Kansas City Star . Reid works on the second floor.

“Because the building was occupied at the time of the bullet coming through the window, the case is being investigated as an aggravated assault,” said Kansas City Police Department spokesperson Jacob Becchina , via the Kansas City Star .
