While speaking with reporters at the NFL’s annual fall meeting on Tuesday, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson insisted he didn’t regret the club’s decision to move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers this past offseason. Throughout 2025, outsiders assumed that Johnson, general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn were all on the same page regarding the Rodgers call that was made shortly after Johnson hired Mougey and Glenn. However, NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk/NBC Sports snuck in an interesting update in his latest post on the subject. “As we hear it, there was a difference of opinion as to who did and who didn’t [want Rodgers back for another season],” Florio wrote about the Jets. “GM Darren Mougey wanted to keep Rodgers, we’re told.
