Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II could be out of the lineup for a long time due to a pectoral injury. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Surtainโs injury will likely keep him out of action for four to six weeks.
Schultz said no surgery is needed, but he was told that Surtain will get a second opinion this week to confirm exactly how much time he will miss. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year suffered the injury during the Broncosโ 44-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
With 22 seconds remaining in the first half, Patrick Surtain II tackled Cowboys WR George Pickens . During the tackle, Surtain twisted his left arm and shoulder, and he was in pain as he walked to the locker room at halftime. It was the second injury the former Alabama star suffered on Sunday, as he left the game earlier because of a lower right leg injury.
Surtain came into this season looking to build on a productive 2024 campaign. The 25-year-old recorded 45 tackles, four interceptions, 11 passes defended, and one defensive touchdown last year. In eight games this season, Surtain has tallied 27 tackles and nine passes defended.
