By Arthur Rooks Boxing Contributor

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) showcased his dominance in the welterweight division with a devastating victory over David Avanesyan (30-5-1, 18 KOs). The bout, which was stopped in the fifth round, saw Boots employ a relentless body attack that gradually wore down Avanesyan.

The decisive moment came when Boots landed a perfectly timed left-hand counter, dropping Avanesyan in the fifth. Although Avanesyan managed to rise from the canvas, he was visibly hurt, wincing from the punishment of Boots’ body shots. This victory solidifies Boots’ position as a top contender in the welterweight division, setting the stage for potential unification bouts.

Eddie Hearn, Boots’ promoter, expressed excitement about the future, mentioning possible matchups to unify the welterweight division. Potential opponents include WBC Champion Mario Barrios, WBA Champion Eimantas Stanionis, and WBO Champion Brian Norman Jr. There’s also talk of a showdown with former P4P Champion Bud Crawford. Each of these matchups promises to be a thrilling contest, with Boots aiming to prove himself as the undisputed king of the welterweights. Fans are eagerly anticipating these potential clashes, which could redefine the landscape of the division.

In other boxing action, Raymond Muratalla scored a unanimous-decision victory over Tevin Farmer in a 10-round lightweight bout in Las Vegas. The judges scored the fight 97-92, 96-93, and 95-94 in favor of Muratalla, who delivered a disciplined and strategic performance. Muratalla’s precise punching and ring generalship proved too much for Farmer, earning him a well-deserved victory.
