Roger Goodell addresses whether Taylor Swift will perform Super Bowl halftime show

Now that she’s officially engaged to marry Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce , there has been rampant speculation global pop mega-star Taylor Swift could headline a future Super Bowl . For its part, the NFL is completely on board if the future Mrs. Kelce-Swift — or Swift-Kelce — is interested in performing during the league’s premier event.

“We would always love to have Taylor play,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said during a Tuesday morning appearance on the Today show. “She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”

Goodell was far less forthcoming regarding whether anything is currently in the works with Swift.

“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell added, “It’s a maybe.”

Goodell then joked he’s “waiting on my friend Jay-Z. It’s in his hands. I’m waiting for the (white) smoke to come out.” Rapper Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation produce the Super Bowl halftime shows.
