Ryan Garcia has never been one to hold back his words, and his latest target is none other than the undefeated Terence “Bud” Crawford. In a fiery rant, Garcia didn’t mince words, calling Crawford an “overhyped bum” who has only beaten a post-car crash Errol Spence. “Crawford ain’t like that. He’s an overhyped bum. I’m sorry, somebody had to say it. You’re an overhyped bum, you fing suck bro. You’re not entertaining, you’re boring as f,” Garcia exclaimed. With a 24-1-1 record, Garcia is daring Crawford to settle the score in the ring if he thinks the young fighter is all talk.
However, the prospect of a Crawford vs. Garcia fight seems unlikely, as Crawford’s focus remains on a possible clash with Canelo Alvarez or a mandatory defense against Sebastian Fundora. At 36, Crawford’s career trajectory suggests he’s eyeing one last big payday before hanging up his gloves, and a fight against Garcia might not fit into those plans. The WBO has already ordered Crawford to face Fundora, making the chances of him entertaining a bout with Garcia slim to none.
Despite his suspension and overturned decision victory over Devin Haney, Garcia is determined to stay active in the ring. He recently revealed to TMZ Sports that he’s planning a big fight in December, showing that he’s not letting any setbacks deter him from his goal of proving himself against the best in the sport. Whether Crawford will respond to Garcia’s taunts remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—Ryan Garcia is far from done making noise in the boxing world.
