New Orleans,LA – New Orleans Saints back-up Qb Jameis Winston has fired his agent Joel Segal. Some are speculating the firing is in response to a cheap one year deal Winston signed with the team in April. The deal was a Saints friendly 1 year deal worth $1.1 million.
The Winston Saints deal givesĀ $148,000 in guaranteed money (most of which is his signing bonus). The max he can get with incentives is $2.86 million for the 2020 NFL season. The former Buc Qb had more lucrative deals else where but ultimately decided to call New Orleans home. I have to admit that this move to fire his agent is very late and will not impact the current deal.
Winston has had problems with decision making and turnovers in his five year career. The pairing gives him an supreme opportunity to learn from future 1st ballad HOFer Drew Brees and Coach Sean Payton. The Saints elevated QB Teddy Bridgewater’s career back to starter status and one can think the same could be done for Winston.
Jameis Winston’s career numbers with five seasons in Tampa Bay 70 starts, completed 1,563-of-2,548 passes (61.3 percent) for 19,737 yards, 121 touchdown passes and an 86.9 passer rating.
